Three levers in plant engineering.

Plant projects are complex but follow recognisable patterns. Three levers produced the largest effect in our mandates. Lean principles such as standardisation and problem solving at source sit inside all three; they are not a separate building block.

Modularisation

Standardised modules replace bespoke project design wherever that makes sense. Engineering effort drops, quality rises, and supplier economies of scale become available at all. Modularisation creates the repetition without which takt and flow cannot take hold.

Takt and flow

Flow aligns design, procurement, manufacturing and execution to the value stream instead of optimising each phase for itself. Takt gives the whole a rhythm. Together they remove waiting time between trades, cut inventory, and surface deviations before they turn critical.

Operational planning and control

Here we do not just advise, we take it on. We fill the planning and control role inside the project and run it on lean principles: short-cycle planning by the people who execute, daily control instead of a monthly report, problems solved where they arise. At the end the role passes to your line organisation, together with the system we established.
