Lean Construction Academy
VDI 2553 certification.

Three modules built around a physical simulation model for flow and takt. International practice from building, plant, infrastructure, specialty foundations and shipbuilding, condensed into 90 minutes on a table with materials, drawings and a stopwatch.

01 · INTERNATIONAL PRACTICE

Theory that works.
Twenty years of Lean Construction.

What the Modern Construction Academy teaches comes from two decades of Lean Construction on international mega-projects. Eight sectors, one shared bottleneck logic. The mechanic from the simulation works wherever many trades have to coordinate on tight footprints.

Building

Residential, office towers, hotels. Many trades on tight footprints. Completion dates drive vacancy losses and refinancing.

Hospitals

Complex builds with high MEP share. Hygiene zones, medical equipment, phased construction next to live operations.

Data centres and commercial

Hyperscaler builds with cooling, power and grid connection as the bottleneck. Shortest construction cycles in the industry.

Specialty foundations

Tunnels, deep drilling, complex foundations. Unpredictable subsurface, sequencing logic decides everything.

Infrastructure

Roads, rail, bridges. Distributed sites with critical corridor logistics under live operations.

Shipbuilding and offshore

Yards and offshore structures. Highest integration depth across multi-year build cycles.

Industrial plants

Modular pre-fabrication, global sourcing, ramp-up under first-of-class risk in process industries.

Energy and renewables

Dams, pumped storage, offshore wind, battery factories. Long project horizons, high capex.

02 · WHY THIS ACADEMY

Three reasons that stick.

Other providers train on slides. We train on a mechanic shaped by two decades of international construction mandates.

20 years on site.

Two decades of Lean Construction on international mega-projects. What we teach, we have done.

Eight sectors.

From building to hospitals to offshore. The mechanic from the simulation works wherever trades coordinate in confined space.

Methods that work.

Last Planner, takt, pull. No theory collection: tested on site and condensed for the training room.

03 · THE MODEL

A simulation for flow and takt.

The training uses a physical simulation model that replays a real build situation with multiple trades: tight schedule, disruptions, change orders, the normal pressure of a major site. Across several rounds participants see how flow and takt work, and how a trade train is built. What becomes visible here applies in every sector: where takt is missing, material piles up. Where pull is missing, work runs past the bottleneck. Where standardisation is missing, rework keeps coming back.

Simulation in action
Brown paper reflection at the model
Material flow in the simulation
Takt plan on the wall
ROUND 01
The classic build.

Dates slip, material piles up, trades block each other. What participants know from site shows up in 90 minutes on the model.

ROUND 02
Build flow.

Pull instead of push: material is pulled, not pushed. Clear handovers, defined sequences. Inventory shrinks, rework drops.

ROUND 03
Takt and pull.

Last Planner on the wall, takted material flow, handovers under control. Same task, same team, typically 30 to 50 percent faster, without the noise.

04 · VOICES

What certified participants say.

Three voices from three sectors. What changed on their own projects after the programme.

"The model shows in 90 minutes what consultants usually explain in three slides. We applied it on our building project the same week."

PROJECT LEAD · BUILDING · € 120 M VOLUME

"After the Deep programme we rolled out Last Planner across two major sites. For the first time, construction planning feels like operating, not wishful thinking."
